Log Home Construction

There are more Log Home style choices today than there were nearly 30 years ago when I was getting started as a Log home Builder. We now offer (4) basic styles of Log Home construction.

The First basic option in Log Home Design is considered the "Ultimate" Log Home of choice or, the Hand-Crafted Log Home. These homes are more time consuming and labor intensive, because they require the most skill from a builder. This is my favorite, and the style of Log Home construction that I have spent 85-90% of my career involved in.

You will want to evaluate your budget and time frame when choosing a handcrafted Log Home, but you will absolutely cherish your home when it is finished. These Log Homes will also give you the best equity appraisal.

The Second basic option in Log Home Design is to use a Milled Log Home Product. While less time consuming, and less rustic in appearance, many still prefer the look and feel of a Milled Log Home. This style of Log Home construction is also more cost effective than a Hand-Crafted Log Home.

There are many options, to choose from, and we will be happy to help you make a good choice in selecting a milled Log home Package provider.We can then help you make that Log Home Package the home you really want, with some custom options to personalize it to your tastes and lifestyle.

The third basic option in Log Home Design is to use quality Log Siding over conventionally framed walls, and other authentic log accents in your design. This style of construction is the easiest, least time consuming, and most cost effective, as well as giving a home owner many options for finishing the interior of the log home.

There are many Log Home Siding Products on the market today that give this style of Log home Construction, the look and feel of a true Log Home, but save you lots of time & money in the process. If you need to watch your budget closely, this may be your best option.

The Fourth basic option in Log Home Design is to use a combination of "Post & Beam" and/or "Timber Framing" construction techniques in your home. This style leans toward a square beam, or hewn Log look, and can either be constructed as "Structural Components", or simply as accents with conventional framing or "Stick Built" homes. If you choose to build a Timber Framed home as "Structural Components", it can cost as much as a "Hand-Crafted Log Home", and can take as long.

Whether you go with "Structural" components or with "Accents", you may like this style because it gives you the options of interior trim that are similar to a "Stick Built/Conventional Framed Home".
